Hello, I'm Alex.
Welcome to Fauna & Rae, a collection of thoughts, imagery and inspiration drawn from the world around me. As a photographer and creative living in Denver, Colorado, I'm passionate about capturing beauty in all forms.
I specialize in stylized portrait, fashion and brand photography while currently exploring a love of working with couples to create images which celebrate their unique connection.
The nitty gritty of my artistic journey would include completing a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art with a Minor in Art History and Criticism at the Florida State University. After a 5 year hiatus from the creative realms, Fauna & Rae was finally born. Fauna, popular from the Latin terminology Flora and Fauna, represents a relationship with the earth that's been ever-present and impactful in my life. I grew up a child of the mud and trees. Rae is the middle name I share with the most important woman in my life, my grandmother. Throughout my years she's shown me what true kindness, strength and humor look like in the face of the unexpected challenges life may cast our way.
When I'm not photographing, writing or traveling, you can find me at the local coffee shop, cuddling with my cat, Nikki, or browsing the internet for new inspiration.

We hired Alex to take our engagement photos. She took
the most beautiful pictures of us and provided guidance along the entire way. Neither of us are models and have never posed for pictures like this before and she was incredible helping us throughout the
entire process including curling my hair, helping with makeup and styling multiple outfits to decide on the perfect one. We love the photos that we received and would absolutely recommend her for anyone else needing photos like we did.
Working with Alex was amazing from start to finish! I had followed her on Instagram for months and loved her artistic eye and
beautiful editing. When it finally worked out for me to shoot with her I was so excited, and she managed to exceed my
expectations in every way! She made me feel so comfortable while we were shooting and helped me turn my simple ideas into stunning images that reflected my brand perfectly. I'm so thankful I was able to
integrate her work into my new platform, and can't wait to work with her again in the future!
